We just received word that a tagline we’ve been using since our inception was approved by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Bare Your Beauty. On the surface, this seems like a smart few words to describe what we want our guests to do – to make their skin bare (free of hair), and to feel beautiful from that choice. However, these three words mean more to us. We also use this phrase as a mantra, as a reminder to bare our inner beauty – to be open, transparent, trusting and giving.
And from this notion, Bare Your Heart was born. In October, every LunchboxWax chose a non-profit of choice for a simple (yet impactful) fundraiser. For every service that month, the salon would donate $1 to a non-profit organization in their community.
Portland LunchboxWax chose Raphael House, a place dedicated to ending intimate partner violence for good. Park City chose Peace House, and Sarasota LunchboxWax chose Brides Against Breast Cancer, an organization that is quickly gaining national momentum and is based in Florida.
The Sun Valley salon chose a slightly different approach and opted for an 80-day program that let every guest choose where they wanted their dollar to go. Eighteen non-profit organizations benefited from the generosity, including The Advocates, Camp Rainbow Gold and the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation are in the process of receiving their checks now. And what’s more, the Boise and Eagle salons chose to match these guests’ contributions — a triple-shot of love to so many Idaho do-gooders.
There’s no better way to end a year full of blessings than to offer blessings to others — to give to people who give every day. Because to bare your beauty, you have to bare your heart.
